CA$H Cues - Ebony Merry Widow
About CA$H Cues:
CA$H Cues is a small American cue-making team formed by Tommy Hindman and Jess June, both longtime apprentices of legendary cuemaker Bill McDaniel.
For over a decade, they worked closely alongside Bill, helping craft many of the McDaniel cues from that era.
After Bill McDaniel faced financial difficulties and eventually stepped away from cue making, he sold his workshop, machinery, materials, and remaining wood inventory directly to Tommy and Jess.
With the same foundation, equipment, and years of firsthand experience under Bill’s guidance, the duo went on to establish their own brand: CA$H Cues.
While deeply rooted in the McDaniel lineage, CA$H was never meant to simply reproduce the past.
Tommy and Jess chose to return to the essence of true custom cue making — lower production, direct retail orders, greater individuality, and more handcrafted attention to detail in every build.
CA$H cues continue to carry many of the traits that made McDaniel cues so admired, including intricate inlay work and the use of luxurious materials.
At the same time, they introduced their own refinements to shaft taper, shaft construction, and butt construction, placing even greater emphasis on playability and overall performance.
One of the most notable features found on many CA$H cues is their refined low-deflection ferruleless shaft.
Using specially selected dense, straight-grain maple that has been naturally aged and dried, these shafts are built to withstand repeated impact without a traditional ferrule — a demanding construction method highly respected among cue enthusiasts.
Today, it remains unclear whether CA$H is still actively producing cues, but their yearly output has always been extremely limited.
This rarity, combined with their McDaniel lineage, refined craftsmanship, and exceptional playability, has made CA$H cues highly collectible and sought after among serious players and collectors alike.
From what we have heard, Bill McDaniel has also recently returned to building cues again.
